About me:
Since last mid-season, I’ve been training together with Stefan Cerwenka. Preparations for summer and the supervision throughout the whole season are to the fore. Stef coaches the Austrian Freestyle Team and gives me technical advice from time to time. Thanks!! In summer, I spend most of the time at the army’s sports centre for competitive sports Blattgasse (Heeresleistungssportzentrum) or at home. The HLSZ (short for the army’s sports centre) provides perfect training conditions and the possibility to practice professional snowboarding. Why did I choose snowboarding? There are only a few other things that are more fun for me than hiking and drawing my line downhill in the snow. That’s why I chose snowboarding as my profession! The most fascinating in racings are the head-to-head duels. It’s not only important to be fast but you also need to assess your opponent and react to his/her actions extremely fast. You always face new challenges in elite sports in general.

Overall winner of the European Cup 2001
Twice-Junior World Champion 2000
About me:
In 1992, I discovered my love for snowboarding through my friends. Back then, I was still an ambitious skier and the decision didn’t come easy. However, I changed from two boards to just one in 1993. The first time I participated at an international snowboard event was in 1995 and since 1997, I’m a member of several Austrian squads (junior-, B- and A-squad). Meanwhile this is the 3rd year that I’m part of the Austrian team – the national squad.
I’m one of a few lucky people that could make a hobby their profession. Snowboarding isn’t only about competing with time, gaining points and earning trophy money but it also represents a unique lifestyle, where you can escape from daily life and switch off. Success comes along automatically as long as you don’t lose the fun in snowboarding…

Athletic Aims:
I want to claim a place in the ÖSV B-squad soon and want to rank at least in the top 15 in the European Cup-Fis. At the current time, I try to perfect my 900 (2 ½ rotations) with the priority not to be injured.
About me:
In the last season, I have managed the great jump to the ÖSV C-Squad (Junior). However, I was always aware that it wouldn’t be easy and you only become successful by putting in a lot of effort and keeping an eye on your personal aims. Scholastically, the program is densely packed because during the training- and competition-season, which take place from November til March, the days of school are very few. Therefore, commercial school takes four years and the course including a-levels takes another three years. When the snow melts and flowers start to bloom, it’s time for me to put my board aside and jump the trampoline in compensation. Nevertheless, I participate at the triathlon and have achieved a few good rankings; I even finished the Iron man 70.3 (1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling, 21 km running) in St. Poelten.

Olympic Games - London 2012
About Heli & me:
We are both white water-slalom canoeists & tour around the world to participate in racings. Our home is in Schaerding but since there is no white water we travel a lot. We have been practicing canoe slalom on a top-of-the-world level for many years now, have gained several international titles and celebrated many victories. Some highlights were Vio’s bronze-medal at the Olympic Games in Peking 2008 and her European Championship-victory in 2007, Heli’s victory at the European Championship 2005 as well as the bronze-medal at the World Championships in 2003. Overall, we have participated seven times at the Olympic Games and plan to start in London in 2012. What fascinates us in white-water rafting is most of all how divers and challenging water can be, how you can turn this natural power into forward drive and make use of the constantly changing attributes of water.See ya on the water! *

Über mich:
I consider myself an ambitious and determined person that enjoys life and always tries to live in the here and now.
At the age of 12, I encountered triathlon for the first time and was immediately enthusiastic about it. The reason for that is simple: Swimming, cycling and running have always been my favourite sports and those three in combination provide a perfect variety. Since I have the advantage of practicing this sport professionally, I have come to appreciate to work towards a big aim with patience and determination as well as the tournament-related travels to foreign countries and the contact to new cultures.
