The new Viennese Label had its first release starting off with Sebastian Lutz from Frankfurt and ‘I`m tellin you’ which has a very percussive kicking and old school house sound full of vocal samples moving up one funk nuance after the other. The remix by Robert Dietz takes a clean sweep and hardly anything remains of the classic house basis but sound fragments, and Robert keeps going on self-confidently and caught up in the beat minimal clockwork-style right to the end. Anyhow, I like it. Nico Purmann rather aligns the entire track to harmonic rave and prefers to search for a techno plateau on which everything floats anyway. We are looking forward to hearing more.

This new label from Vienna had a great start with the debut-12” of Wittener’s Lutz, who had success with his former releases on big city beats. It’s also but not only thanks to the remixes by Robert Dietz (Cecille, Be Chosen) and Nico Purmann (Vakant, Crosstown Rebels), purifying the not so much overloaded original track and to alleviate the catchy vocals that remind me of Big Daddy Kanes “Set it Off”. What remains in all three mixes is the percussive-tingly house track that maybe could even be categorised as minimal but is not calm enough.

Do Easy Rec / Vienna

The Viennese Music Label Do Easy Rec goes with Vienna’s long tradition of the love to deep and groovy beats and oughts to be the national identity of the fresh and young minimal house society, a link for upcoming as well as established european artists, and most of all a synonym for high quality club sound of the new generation offsite the large raves and techno-hype.
Do Easy stands for the lively feeling in a club, spontaneous moving moments and celebrating with friends. Musicians get the opportunity to explore and publish new sounds offsite the pure commercial limits, and the listener can finally leave common boundaries while relying on Do Easy Rec in gently giving direction.

Johannes Lehner and Andy Catana, residents and hosts at the Viennese clubs Flex and Camera, have experience in label work (Flexschallplatten), PR and come along with strong european-wide contacts. Together with D.E.R. Drink they are the founders of Do Easy Rec. Both can look back at their first releases, Lehner will publish his first EP on Emersons Micro.fon Label beginning of 2009.
Thanks to the cooperation with the team of D.E.R. DRINK this project had a basis, security and sponsorship right form the start to make it an institution.
